Developer Update #12: Another Part of Life's Rich Tapestry...

Posted on October 27, 2026 by DrPyspy

Hello again, Tomblets! It's DEV UPDATE TIME! Things have been unpredictable to say the least, but I feel like that's been the case for every dev update, so it's kind of expected at this point. Speaking of unpredictable, there's a whole lot of new stuff heading your way very soon! Not like, right-after-this-post soon, but soon-ish. Let's look both ways and cross into a wealth of shiny new content!

Red Dead Resolver

It's 12:00 PM somewhere!

Tomb Fetus... has GUNS! A lot of 'em, actually. It was never going to stop at just the launch selection; devious data digmeisters may have spotted a couple weapons still waiting to be properly introduced. However, this isn't about either of those weapons. It's an ALL-NEW WEAPON, baby! Say hello to the Resolver!

The quick and the fragged!

This handy little wild west blaster has rolled into town, and it's loaded with six shots of semi-adulterated bullet shootery! Each shot is hyper accurate and deadly, providing a quicker and more lowkey alternative to the Gloss Cannon's green beams of power. However, all that power packed into a little thing like this doesn't come for free; each shot will kick your view upwards, requiring a steady hand to keep your shots on target. Additionally, the Resolver only has six bullets loaded at a time! If you run out, you gotta stop to reload. It's easy enough for your average cowpoke to handle, but mastering it's rooty-tootiness can prove tricky, so put on your awesome fuckin' cowboy boots and aim that sucker!

You missed that one! TRY ANOTHER!

Stuck in a tricky close-quarters situation? Spin it to your advantage with the Resolver's alt-fire! Fan that hammer and let your spinning clip thing unload a bullet-flavored six-course buffet! These are much more unpredictable, but with the right battle sense, you can send your foes six feet under in the blink of an eye! The recoil gets SUPER crazy when you whip this out, and you'll be left needing to reload, so PLAN AHEAD!

Pickups for the Resolver have been scattered about the existing maps, so seek 'em out and show those dirty crimin'els what 'yer packin' in 'yer holster! Yeehaw, varmint! Cowboy!

Bizarre Breakdown

It's the place I wanna be!

Now, we'll be taking a look at the first of two brand-new maps: Beautiful Duwango! Taking place in the coastal town of Morillo, Duwango-dori is another out-on-the-town kinda map, similar to Wiseau and Skulville. It's also a smaller map compared to the MASSIVENESS of the previous update's Ice Cube Zone, so smaller groups of Tomblets will have another comfortably sized arena to do their business. BUT! Despite it's size, it's just as jam-packed as it's city-slickin' peers! So let's dive in and take a tour of this crazy little slice-of-town!

Every road leads you somewhere...

Welcome to the main street! This is where the symbiosis of commercial and residential properties is visible in all its glory. One of the draws of this area is the Bobson's convenience store, where you can pop in for a quick snack (a large health pickup) or a quick snack (actual snack)! The path to the nearby neighborhood is blocked off for privacy reasons, but it's a nice spot to rest and admire the scenery. JUST REMEMBER: Don't mess with other people's mail, and if you find yourself somewhere scary, keep on running and don't look back. I don't understand exactly what that means, but it's probably just a mistranslated metaphor exclusive to the local dialect. Wow!

The greatest deli in town!

Down the road is an general-use building and an alleyway that leads towards Morillo's most beloved delicatessen: St. Jarna! They specialize in many flour-yeast-likes and are renowned for their ability to smash unrelated ingredients between them to create culinary masterpieces! Tomblets won't be stopping for their food-type wares, however; the big draw here is the VEGADOOMER! It's a tight fit and a hotly contested area, so you may have some trouble grabbing it and getting out alive if your enemies have the same idea. Can you beat the lunch rush, or will you starve? Hungry!

No trespassing!

If you're looking for something to keep your spirits up, there's a lovely quasi-abandoned property right along the coastal road! Brave the dubiously maintained flight of stairs to net a Megahealth and some nice vantage points that oversee the nearby shopping areas and the yet-to-be-acknowledged HASTE POWERUP! Be warned; the Haste is located right in the middle of Duwango-dori's busiest road ever, infamous for it's impressive quantity of road-based accidents! As long as you look both ways, you should be fine.

Don't forget to say hello!

Rockin' the Suburbs

Where pink flamingos grow!

Next, we're off to Nukington '99! For those familiar, you'll recognize it as a remake of Nuketown from Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and However, those with sharp corneas and insatiable curiosity may know that an early version of it was in the game's files back when it initially released! It's evolved quite a bit since then, and it's finally ready for it's debut to the public!

Things that seem still...

Nukington '99 takes place in a suburban cul-de-sac, with two opposing houses facing vaguely towards each other like two hungry wolves fixing to fight for the last strip of meat! To keep the theme going, this metaphorical meat is a Quad Damage powerup, located directly above the center of the map. There's many ways to approach it, and the best way to do so will shift as Tomblets flow around the map, so stay sharp!

Everything we need is here!

Of course, you can't have a suburban cul-de-sac without HOUSES! On either side of the circle of death lies a mass-produced residential monolith filled with FURNITURE and NICE THINGS! Both houses are roughly similar throughout, but there's minor differences in the layout and entirely different weapon spawns that'll keep you hopping between homes to maintain your ideal loadout. These fully-furnished houses protect you from much of the outside world, but BE WARNED! Getting holed up in a tight space isn't as ideal as your usual first-person perspective blaster; camping and sniping is a lot less profitable when your prey can retaliate with a skip, a hop, and a meatshot.

We actually have the same house plan!

Underneath the hood, this map is quite a handful! Lots of complex angled geometry, furnished multi-level interiors, and plenty of tricks that make the engine's node builder scream for mercy. I felt I could not compromise on the original Nuketown's angled geometry, so I persevered and did anything I could to preserve it, making the necessary compromises for where it just wasn't worth it. In the end, it's something that feels unique and plays great, supporting all kinds of back-and-forth and property-spanning battle dynamics that can't yet be found in any other Tomb Fetus map. It's cool! I will now gladly return to primarily parallel lines and 90-degree angles! I'M FREE!

You better look out, because she's gonna say FUCK.

Artifact

The object of everyone's desire. Shiny!

Tomb Fetus already has THREE (3) gamemodes in which the goal is to be the one who compromises the highest amount of enemies to a temporary end, but sometimes, you crave a different goal to work towards. Something... odder. Something baller. Something crucial, kept away, held, and even passed from time to time. Lucky for you, Tomb Fetus is ready to introduce a brand-new gamemode that caters to these possessive whims! Get ready Tomblets, because it's time for ARTIFACT!

Grab it, have it, or snag it! These things are non-exclusive.

In Artifact mode, it's not fragging alone that gets you to the top of the scoreboard; fragging foes does NOT net you any score. Instead, your score depends on holding the titular sacred ARTIFACT. Every second you hold it, the higher your score rises, which means you'll want to grab it ASAP and hold onto it for as long as you can. Of course, every other Tomblet in a 3 mile radius will also be trying to do the same thing, so... good luck!

You can't hide, but you can run!

A word of caution: In addition to the artifact lighting you up and making shiny-ass noises, enemies will also be able to discern your locations through walls, thanks to the handy-dandy marker. There's no hiding with this thing in your hands, so plan your escape routes accordingly! Craftier players can buy time using the movement capabilities of their weapons, but even the cleverist of players only have so many tricks. No one lives forever!

The game will end when one of two things happen: the round timer runs out, or a player hits the score limit. Depending on how the round is going, you'll want to swap tactics and choose your priorities. Sometimes you'll want to be racking up your points with a target on your head, or you could be sitting comfortably at the top of the scoreboard and focused on screwing over your wannabe usurpers. It's all about these second-to-second decisions in this crazy-ass fast-paced chaos!

Challengers Approaching!

Time for a big-ass surprise! This next update will come with not just one, but TWO new playable characters! Everyone give a warm welcome to Max and Sauna! You may recognize these two from older videos and screenshots, but you haven't had a real chance to make their acquaintance yet. So let's do so!

Max carries on!

First up is Max Bates, one of the founding members of DikTwist! Together with Kate and the other DikTwist members, they deliver sonic defiance against authority from their garage-shaped base of operations. Unlike his outgoing sister Pat, Max is a lot more reserved and keeps to himself. To most, Max is a enigma whose inner pain you couldn't possibly understand. To his friends, he's the one who accidentally gets pickles on his burger and thinks about speaking with the cashier but doesn't want to be a bother. Angsty!

Sauna moves his feet!

Next up is Sauna the Hogdog, the Morphian superstar gifted with incredible speed! In his early years, Sauna served the common people, getting cats out of trees and returning shopping carts. Nowadays, Sauna takes things much slower, burnt out by such intense heroics and preferring to be more of a symbol. He prefers not to be perceived or asked of anything these days, and if you catch him in public, it's probably in a hoodie and pajama pants.

It's getting packed in here!

These two newcomers are but the tiniest tip of the planned roster for Tomb Fetus, with a massive amount of characters still waiting for their big chance to debut. There's a lot that goes into making these characters, but a major part is the voice acting. A lot of work can go into the visuals, but without a voice to truly bring the character to life, they just aren't complete! Thanks to Tomb Fetus' benevolent producer and vicious hunter of vocalizers Carlos Sanchez, you'll be hearing CJ Heineman as Max and Bobby Taormina as Sauna! I hope you look forward to playing as 'em when the update releases!

We have finally reached the end of our super awesome and fucking epic and cool developer update! This next update is jam-packed and filled to the brim with STUFF! Between new weapons, new maps, new characters, and a new gamemode, there's a whole ton of new stuff to check out. This update is on track to release very soon, so keep your eyes peeled, and I'll see you on the battlefield! The Tomblefield! The battlefetus. Tomblefetld.
